The successful candidate will be responsible for performing asset care activities, supporting maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations of mechanical equipment.
This is a fixed-term position aimed at maintaining high safety, quality, and operational standards within the mining environment.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform asset care activities in accordance with the EAMS system, ensuring accurate feedback and documentation to stakeholders.
- Obtain, verify, and capture data, ensuring proper filing procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments in your area of work and within your span of control.
- Adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards, and report unsafe or hazardous conditions.
- Participate actively in safety meetings.
- Maintain workshop area, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct fitting work supporting maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and installations based on work orders.
- Complete daily inspection checklists for tools and work areas.
- Report problems and propose recommendations to supervisors.
- Support change initiatives and provide feedback.
- Contribute to team performance and participate in planning and improvement initiatives.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to conduct fitting work supporting mechanical maintenance.
- Strong understanding of asset care activities and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills for effective reporting and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 / N3 (Required)
- Trade Test Fitter Certification
- Valid Driver’s Licence: Code B / EB
- Dover B Symbol
- At least 3 years’ post-apprenticeship fitter experience in a heavy industrial, mining, or plant environment.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to prepare, operate, maintain, and repair production equipment, including mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Commitment to safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Willingness to participate in safety meetings and improvement initiatives.
