The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) invites applications from unemployed candidates to participate in a twelve (12) months Learnership Programme for the National Certificate in Nature Conservation: Resource Guardianship NQF Level 02.
Location: Various Nature Reserves in Mpumalanga Province

This programme combines practical work and theoretical learning through both structured work experience and training with an accredited provider.
Successful applicants will be based at one of the following Nature Reserves, depending on their area of residence.

Responsibilities Include
- Assisting in biodiversity conservation across reserves
- Monitoring and removing invasive vegetation
- Supporting tasks such as fire management, rehabilitation, infrastructure maintenance, fauna and flora monitoring, plant propagation, and administration
- Collecting data to support conservation objectives
- Engaging with communities, residents, and organizations to promote environmental education and reserve involvement
- Completing assigned tasks timely and in alignment with practical experience
- Attending training sessions and learner support activities
Qualifying Criteria
- Unemployed South Africans aged 18 to 35 years
- Must have Grade 12 qualification
- CV, ID copy, and valid proof of residence must be attached
- Interest in outdoor work and practical conservation activities
- Residing in Mpumalanga Province
- Not currently studying at any tertiary institution
- Not participating in any other learnerships
