SANRAL Bursary Programme 2026 now open for applications!

Bursary Overview

SANRAL is offering bursaries for the 2026 academic year to support students starting their first year of university or college.

Organization: South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited
Closing Date: 30 September 2025.

The bursary aims to assist students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Human Resource Management, Public Procurement or Supply Chain Management, or Computer Science/Information Systems.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to apply for on-the-job training with SANRAL.

  • SANRAL does not charge any application fees.
  • Applications will be reviewed by a committee; decisions are final.
  • Only successful applicants will be contacted.

  • If no response is received by 31 January 2026, the application was unsuccessful.
  • Applicants must have a minimum 70% overall average in matric.
  • Bursaries are for students entering their first year of undergraduate studies in 2026.

  • Applicants with other bursaries will be disqualified.
  • Preference will be given in line with SANRAL’s Employment Equity policies.
  • The applicant’s financial situation will be considered.

Eligibility Criteria

  • South African citizen under 35 years old.
  • Matriculants with 70% overall average.

  • Enrolling full-time at an approved South African tertiary institution (excluding private universities).
  • Course must match your application details.
  • Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.

Requirements

  • Complete and submit a full application form with all supporting documents.
  • All information must be accurate; misrepresentation may lead to disqualification.
  • Include a Letter of Motivation (1 page).

  • Provide certified copies of academic results, ID, proof of residence, and supporting documents.
  • Proof of income should be no older than 3 months.
  • Additional documents include proof of registration, guardian’s ID, and, if applicable, court orders or marriage certificates.

  • Certified copies of academic results or record
  • Proof of tertiary application and registration
  • ID document or birth certificate

  • ID documents of parents/legal guardians
  • Proof of residence (water/electricity bill)
  • Proof of income (within 3 months)
  • Supporting documents if applicable (guardian’s court order, foster care, marriage certificate)
