The role involves managing day-to-day administration and providing advisory support for employee benefit programs.
About the Role
The Benefits Officer will support employees, HR teams, and leadership with various benefits-related activities, including leave requests, share plans, education grants, medical aid, provident fund, and disability funds.
The position requires strong administrative skills, benefits experience, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with benefits administration and advisory activities
- Liaise regularly with employees and external service providers
- Attend and contribute to Trustee meetings
- Manage distribution of death benefits and related activities
- Coordinate and process ill health/disability claims and absences
- Maintain accurate employee records and monitor benefits activities
- Facilitate employee benefits inductions
- Conduct investigations related to benefit distribution
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or a related field
- Minimum 3 years proven experience in benefits administration
- Understanding of benefit plans, procedures, and local regulations
- Knowledge of Section 37C of the Pension Funds Act
- Experience with SAP HR is advantageous
- Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
- Proficiency in isiZulu is essential
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
