Job Title: Accountant Mine Reporting
The successful candidate will play a vital role within the management accounting team, supporting operational and strategic financial activities at the mine.
This opportunity allows for growth and development within a dynamic mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor operational changes and industry impacts on financial performance
- Implement cost control measures and analyze variances
- Prepare budgets, management accounts, and related reports
- Conduct monthly reviews of capital expenditure
- Support long-term strategic planning
- Manage people within the team
- Ensure SHERQ compliance in own area of work
- Uphold high work ethics and standards
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications (Essential)
- Grade 12 with Mathematics
- Degree (NQF Level 7) in Management or Financial Accounting
- CIMA or CA (SA) qualification is recommended
Experience (Essential)
- Minimum of 5 years management or financial accounting experience in a mining or heavy industry environment
- At least 2 years supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Computer Literacy: MS Office, ERP JD Edwards or similar, Oracle EPM, Qlikview, TaxPacc
- Functional Skills: Management accounting, budgeting, capital procedures, mining operations, feasibility studies
- Technical Skills: Negotiation, presentation, analytical, influencing skills
- Legislative Knowledge: IFRS, VAT Act, Income Tax Act, Mineral Royalty Tax, Diesel rebates, Mining Charter/DTI requirements
Additional Requirements
- Medical fitness as per Mine Health and Safety standards
- Valid Code EB driver’s license
