The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing credit risk within the early collections space, helping to reduce private wealth impairment charges through effective client engagement and portfolio management.
Job Purpose
To provide excellent client service by applying sound credit risk management principles in the early collections space.
The role involves managing a dedicated portfolio/region to help Nedbank minimize impairments and support the bank’s strategic objectives.
Key Deliverables
- Daily client and banker contact to remediate portfolio accounts.
- Implement collections strategies by negotiating repayment plans and escalating to legal teams if necessary.
- Manage default accounts timely and effectively, ensuring acceptable repayment arrangements.
- Maintain compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure a clean audit.
- Provide advice on specialized credit risk matters to Credit Risk Managers and Credit Managers.
- Propose innovative ideas to enhance business processes and improve customer experience.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders through regular communication and training.
- Support team efficiency by drafting and implementing strategies.
- Constantly seek process improvements and adapt to legislative changes.
- Participate in initiatives to address organizational culture and support corporate responsibility.
- Support the implementation of business process improvements and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successfully completed NQF Level 6 or Higher in Finance or Credit-related fields
Minimum Experience:
- At least 1 year in a credit role within a banking environment
- At least 2 years collecting arrears or excess accounts
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of banking procedures and credit risk management
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and governance
- Proficiency in data analysis and relevant software systems
