AfriSam, a leading supplier of construction materials including Cement, Aggregate, and Readymix Concrete across Southern Africa, is seeking a dedicated Environmental Practitioner to join their team.
Location: Dudfield Plant, North West Province

The successful candidate will report to the SHE Manager and be based at the Dudfield Plant.
Their responsibilities will include developing corrective measures for environmental non-compliance, conducting audits, advising management on environmental legislation, and contributing to sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop corrective measures in collaboration with Operational Management for areas of non-compliance identified during evaluations and audits.
- Assist and advise management on environmental trends and legislation.
- Conduct environmental audits at operational levels.
- Lead induction and environmental awareness training within Dudfield.
- Contribute to triple bottom line initiatives.
- Conduct research on environmental information.
- Provide environmental input into operational strategies, mining, processes, and rehabilitation.
- Fulfill legal responsibilities related to water, waste, and NEMA (National Environmental Management Act).
- Facilitate awareness of environmental risks and their impact on short-term strategies and long-term sustainability.
- Represent management as the ISO 14001 representative.
Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- B.Sc. in Environmental or Natural Sciences or Degree in Environmental Management (NQF 7 qualification).
- Three to five years’ experience in a mining or industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Environmental Law, Auditing, Management Systems, Risk Management, and the Mine Health & Safety Act.
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
