Khumani Mine is seeking highly skilled, motivated, and dedicated individuals to join their team as Supervisor Blasting Operations.

Job Location: Khumani Mine, approximately 29 km from Kathu, next to the N14 in the Southern Kalahari

This role offers a unique opportunity for growth and development within the company, contributing to safe and efficient blasting operations in a surface mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate blasting activities ensuring safety and accuracy according to specifications
- Plan and organize shift resources
- Supervise operations and manage contractors
- Control budgets and costs
- Lead and supervise personnel
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to SHERQ standards and compliance
Qualifications (Essential)
- Grade 12 with a Blasting Certificate or equivalent
- MQA Surface Mining Supervisory Certificate or ARM equivalent (NQF level 4 — 150 credits)
- (Recommended) Qualification in Surface Mining Blasting/Explosives Engineering
- (Recommended) National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Mine Overseer Certificate in Mining/Mining Engineering
Other Requirements
- Medically fit in accordance with medical standards
- Valid Code EB/B driver’s license
Experience (Essential)
- At least 4 years of operational Explosive Management and Control
- Minimum 2 years in operational Blasting and Drilling
- At least 1 year in supervisory or team leadership roles in surface mining
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical knowledge and computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, JDE)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure
- Effective planning, organizing, leading, and supervising skills
- Strong people management and leadership qualities
- Ability to innovate and make decisions
