Khumani Mine is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and dedicated individual to join their team as a Project Cost Controller.

Job Location: Khumani Mine, approximately 29 km from Kathu, Northern Cape, South Africa

This position offers a unique opportunity for growth within a dynamic mining environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and controlling project budgets, developing detailed cost estimates, and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
The role is based at the mine situated near Kathu, in the Southern Kalahari.
Key Performance Areas
- Monitor and control project budgets within the Projects Department
- Assist the Project Manager and stakeholders in completing projects within budget
- Develop detailed cost estimates for all project phases
- Manage project estimates and budgeting processes
- Oversee budget and cost monitoring and control
- Manage contractor relationships and ensure cost efficiency
- Ensure compliance with SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, Quality) standards
- Uphold high work ethics and customer service standards
Other Requirements
- Medically fit — meet required medical fitness standards
- Valid Code B Driver’s License
- Registered Professional Quantity Surveyor (recommended)
- Certificates in Cost Management and Project Management (recommended)
Qualifications
- Grade 12
- B Tech / Degree (NQF Level 7) in Quantity Surveying
- Certificate in Cost Management
- Certificate in Project Management (recommended)
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years operational cost control experience
- Minimum of 2 years operational estimating experience
- Minimum of 2 years operational contract management experience
- Total of 6 years relevant experience required (experiences can run concurrently)
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Projects, JD Edwards or equivalent, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), QlikView
- Strong cost management and project cost control skills
- Ability to manage large amounts of information with accuracy
- Understanding of estimating theories, processes, techniques, and tools
- Knowledge of project management principles, especially regarding cost management
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict, and change management skills
- Approachable and able to influence stakeholders
