This internship aims to provide valuable on-the-job experience for youth within the Johannesburg community, supporting their academic and professional development in the transport sector.
- Duration: Up to 18 months
- Location: Old Mutual Building, 75 Helen Joseph Street
- Remuneration: R10,109.86 per month (basic salary, no benefits)
The internship is for a period not exceeding 18 months and offers a monthly remuneration of R10,109.86.
Key Details
Eligibility:
- Must be a City of Johannesburg resident
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) and completed NQF level 6 (National Diploma) in IT, Network & Communication, APTMS, Data Analysis, or AFC
- Never participated in an internship relevant to their course before (except where relevant)
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system terminal in the control centre
- Monitor and analyze online sales data from AFC, station top-up vendors, and buses
- Implement checks to ensure technological consistency and identify problem areas
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management
- Support fare analysis and revenue measurement activities
- Collaborate with technical and operational staff to improve fare collection systems
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Completed NQF Level 6 (National Diploma) in relevant fields
- Only City of Johannesburg residents will be considered
