Positions Details

1. Trainee Engineering Technician – Cape Town (FACT)

Position Summary:
Applications are invited for a Trainee Engineering Technician (Peromnes 13) at ATNS Cape Town (FACT).

The successful candidate will report to the Supervisor: Technical Support FACT, receiving both theoretical and practical training to develop competency as an Engineering Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain proficiency in maintenance activities on equipment, systems, and site infrastructure
  • Learn fault diagnosis down to module Level Replacement Unit (LRU)
  • Perform operator-level service restoration and reconfiguration

  • Develop skills in performance analysis, report drafting, and compliance with SACAA and ICAO standards
  • Support Communications, Navigations, and Surveillance systems

Minimum Requirements:

  • S4 National Diploma in Light Current Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Completed prescribed Technical Learnership at ATNS Aviation Training Academy
  • Preferably ACSA AVOP certified
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s license

2. Trainee Engineering Technician – OR Tambo International Airport (FAOR)

Position Summary:
Seeking a Trainee Engineering Technician to support technical maintenance at FAOR. The role involves comprehensive training in equipment maintenance, fault diagnosis, and system support.

  • Proficiency in fault diagnosis, maintenance, and system reconfiguration
  • Draft technical reports and ensure compliance with aviation standards
  • Support communication, navigation, and surveillance systems
  • Understand Service Level Agreements and operational procedures

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Code 8 driver’s license
