Available Positions
1. Geologist – UG
Purpose of Role:
To oversee and manage all geological activities within Tharisa Minerals’ mining operations, ensuring the successful exploration, extraction, and development of mineral resources while optimizing operational efficiency and safety.
2. General Engineering Supervisor – UG
Purpose of Role:
To manage and maintain all infrastructure and assets in the relevant section, applying best practice maintenance strategies.
The role includes guiding, supporting, coaching, and monitoring a team to improve performance and ensure adherence to the Health and Safety Act (HSE).
3. Occupational Hygiene/Ventilation Specialist – UG
Purpose of Role:
To coordinate, organize, and control ventilation and occupational hygiene systems within a designated area, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and minimizing occupational health hazards.
4. Surveyor – UG
Purpose of Role:
To acquire accurate data using surveying instruments, ensuring precise representation of underground features and events. The role involves monitoring survey activities for compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
5. Training Specialist – UG
Purpose of Role:
To deliver on-the-job coaching, assessments, and ensure training programs are aligned with operational needs. The role also supports delivering high-quality, accredited training in line with regulatory standards.
6. Senior Maintenance Planner – UG
Purpose of Role:
To lead planning and scheduling of underground maintenance activities, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.
7. Document & Systems Administrator – UG
Purpose of Role:
To manage documentation processes, including system updates, review schedules, and SharePoint portal management, ensuring accessibility and compliance of operational documents.
8. Accountant – UG
Purpose of Role:
To oversee financial activities within assigned portfolios, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance, and error-free accounting practices.
9. Supply Chain Specialist – UG
Purpose of Role:
To manage the Materials Requisition Process (MRP), oversee procurement processes, and ensure a continuous supply of resources while maintaining good governance in tenders and procurement activities.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience: (Inherent Requirements: All applicants must be medically fit.)
Geologist – UG:
- Grade 12, BSc Honours Degree (NQF8), SACNASP membership, 8-10 years’ experience including 5 years underground mining, geology modelling expertise.
General Engineering Supervisor – UG:
- Grade 12, National Diploma in Engineering or N6 with Trade Test/S4, 5-8 years’ maintenance planning/supervision experience.
Occupational Hygiene/Ventilation Specialist – UG:
- Grade 12, Mine Environmental Control Certificate, advantageous: relevant diploma/degree, SAIOH registration, 3-5 years’ SHE/OH experience.
Surveyor – UG:
- Grade 12, Chamber of Mines Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Surveying, 3-5 years’ experience with survey instruments.
Training Specialist – UG:
- Grade 12, formal HR/Training qualification, 5+ years’ experience including coaching and assessments.
Senior Maintenance Planner – UG:
- Grade 12, technical systems analysis qualification, NQF Level 4 Asset Management Certificate, 5-7 years’ underground maintenance planning.
Document & Systems Administrator – UG:
- Grade 12, Diploma/Degree in Business Management or related, 1-3 years’ experience in document control/SHEC systems.
Accountant – UG:
- Grade 12, Degree/National Diploma in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years’ relevant experience.
Supply Chain Specialist – UG:
- Grade 12, Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics, 4-6 years’ experience in mining procurement.
