
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Group Finance Department, is offering an exciting Internship opportunity for a period of eighteen (18) months.

Remuneration: R10 109,86 per month (for candidates with completed qualification with a minimum of 120 credits; basic salary, no benefits)
This is an excellent chance for individuals eager to gain practical experience in finance, data analysis, and systems development within a dynamic municipal environment.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12/NQF level 4 with a National Diploma in Information Technology or related fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Chemistry (NQF level 6).
No prior experience required.
Proven skills in:
- Database and systems development (MS SQL or MySQL; working knowledge of Python and C#)
- Extensive knowledge of SQL
- Skills in Python, Power BI, Tableau will be advantageous
Primary Function
The successful candidate will provide technology and data support to the data team.
Responsibilities include:
- Collating and verifying data from multiple sources
- Assisting with the implementation of data and software storage systems
- Executing data analysis and data transfers
- Developing systems to automate and streamline business processes within the Property Branch
- Supporting ETL procedures and ad hoc data queries from other departments

- Participating in stakeholder management, both internally and externally, including the City’s Municipal Entities

- Compiling reports to provide insights into the performance of the Data Section
- Managing and monitoring assets and resources of the Directorate
- Fulfilling administrative and reporting responsibilities related to the Data Section and individual performance
