The mine is situated approximately 29 km from Kathu, next to the N14 in the Southern Kalahari.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing effective and efficient IT technical support and device support
- Ensuring network and user access continuity
- Supporting access control infrastructure and CCTV architecture at the operation
- Applying latest technology to enhance information security
- Maintaining IT support and technical services
- Providing technical security support
- Ensuring adherence to SHERQ standards
- Upholding work ethics
Qualifications (Essential)
- Grade 12
- COMPTIA A+ Information Technology certificate
- COMPTIA N+ Information Technology certificate
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering / Microsoft Integration Technology Professional certificate (Recommended)
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in operational network and technical support
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Formal Training:
- MCSE Basic Server Module
- Basic Active Directory Module
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to differentiate between all colours
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in confined spaces and dusty environments
Policies and Procedures:
- Familiarity with IT policies and procedures
- Understanding of procurement policies
Computer Literacy:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Experience with discipline-specific hardware and software
- Advanced user of Windows XP
Equipment Knowledge:
- Advanced knowledge of CCTV and access control equipment installed at mine
Drive for Results:
- Must be flexible and capable of conducting accurate repairs within short timeframes
Other Requirements
- Medical Fitness:
- Must meet required medical fitness standards
- Driver’s License:
- Valid Code EB/B driver’s license
