POST DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

Provincial Office: Polokwane (5 Posts)

Ref: DSD/2025/31
Qualifications:

  • NQF level 6 or higher in Demography, Population Studies, Community Development, Development Studies, Information and Technology, Computer Science, Media and Communication, Law.
  • From accredited institutions.

District Offices: 25 Posts

Requirements:

  • NQF level 6 or higher in Demography, Population Studies, Community Development, Development Studies, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Sciences.

Workstations include:

  • Capricorn District: 5 Posts (Ref: DSD/2025/32 – DSD/2025/35)
  • Mopani District: 5 Posts (Ref: DSD/2025/36 – DSD/2025/40)
  • Sekhukhune District: 5 Posts (Ref: DSD/2025/41 – DSD/2025/45)
  • Vhembe District: 4 Posts (Ref: DSD/2025/46 – DSD/2025/49)
  • Waterberg District: 5 Posts (Ref: DSD/2025/50 – DSD/2025/54)

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)Batho Pele Principles, and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of research protocols and ethics.
  • Experience with field research/data collection.

  • Ability to speak local languages of the research areas.
  • Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written).
  • Computer literacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews at research sites.
  • Administer research instruments/tools.
  • Ensure secure storage of collected data.

  • Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and anonymity.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagements and meetings.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports and work plans.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Applications are open to unemployed graduates supporting the Department in conducting a rapid research study on “Factors influencing high rates of Teenage Pregnancy in Limpopo Province.”

All shortlisted candidates will undertake two pre-entry assessments: a practical exercise and an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment, in accordance with the Directive on Human Resource Management and Development for Public Service Professionalization (effective from 01 April 2024).

Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure their qualifications are evaluated by SAQA and provide proof of evaluation.
