Position Purpose
A Trainee Yard Official will undergo modular training designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to qualify and be certified as a Yard Official.
Position Outputs
- Attend and complete a theoretical training program within the stipulated time.
- Attend and complete a practical training program within the stipulated time.
- Develop competency to perform operations and operate equipment as assigned, with accountability for jobs at the end of training.
- Safely and efficiently accomplish work assignments aligned with the Training Program, company strategies, and vision.
- Maintain comprehensive records (portfolio of evidence) of all training experiences for progression.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Standard: Grade 12
- Must successfully pass a psychological screening battery test
- Must pass relevant medical tests (including eyes and ears)
- Computer literacy is essential
- Physically fit to perform the duties
- Must successfully complete and pass both theoretical and practical training as a Yard Official
