Overview
AECI Mining is seeking seven motivated Operations Assistants to join their team in Emalahleni.
The successful candidates will support the MMU Controller in managing mobile manufacturing units and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the MMU Controller in managing and operating all aspects of a mobile manufacturing unit (MMU – BLEND truck) to meet customer requirements and adhere to AECI standards (OTIF).
- Conduct regular inspections of fixed plant and MMUs in accordance with SABS and World Class standards to identify non-conformances and implement preventative measures.
- Support blasting operations, including measuring holes, closing or stemming charged holes, guarding, and cleaning.
- Maintain site housekeeping, ensuring cleanliness of the wash bay, truck park, and trucks.
- Assist with loading and unloading of products, packaged explosives, and accessories.
- Support charging duties on the bench, and assist with closing or stemming charged holes.
- Observe all legal requirements while at the depot.
- Ensure MMUs are kept clean according to World Class Standards.
- Perform blasting-related functions as required.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 qualification
- Valid Code B driver’s licence
- Knowledge of safe working practices
- Familiarity with product knowledge and hazardous product handling
- Ability to obtain a red ticket health clearance
