Position Overview
UNV is seeking a Writer for Web Content Intern to support its online communication initiatives.

Duration: 6 months
This remote internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or international development to gain hands-on experience in global storytelling and digital content creation.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Communications Specialist [Editorial], the intern will:
- Research topics related to volunteerism, peace, development, and human rights to inspire content creation
- Write and revise web content from regional offices and field units following UNV guidelines
- Create original content for the website and other communication platforms
- Participate in editorial planning meetings and contribute ideas
- Interview UN Volunteers and compile their stories into engaging editorial content
- Update existing web content based on latest reports
- Maintain the inventory of web materials
- Keep abreast of new trends in digital storytelling and content showcase
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance UNV’s communication efforts
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent English writing and communication skills
- Experience in journalistic writing for external outlets or international media
- Ability to write in a clear, accessible manner for diverse audiences
- Experience in copyediting and photo editing using Photoshop
- Strong research skills and interest in global events
- Creative, open-minded, and a team player willing to learn
- Well-organized with respect for deadlines
- Prior knowledge of Drupal is a plus
- Fluency in any other UN language is an asset
Academic Eligibility
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Enrolled in a postgraduate program (master’s or higher)
- Enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree
- Recently graduated and able to start the internship within one year of graduation
- Enrolled in a professional traineeship program
Compensation and Conditions
- A monthly stipend will be provided to cover basic expenses (amount determined annually by OHR policies)
- Internships are not intended to lead to employment with UNV or UNDP
- Interns are responsible for their medical insurance coverage
- Short-listed candidates may be asked to submit work samples or undertake assessments
