RSF has its headquarters in Paris and offices in Brussels, Washington DC, Berlin, Tunis, Rio, London, and Taipei, along with a network of correspondents in 130 countries.
The organization possesses the capacity to rapidly mobilize significant influence both on the ground and with policymakers.
To support our ongoing development, we are seeking applications for the position of: Our Global Spokesperson.
Your Mission
Acting on behalf of the Director-General and under his supervision, as a key member of the senior management team, you will build and develop RSF’s networks and influence with English-speaking media and public decision-makers.
You will also represent the organization in English-language media and at relevant events.
Your Responsibilities
Representing RSF
- Develop a positioning strategy for the organization in the English-speaking world.
- Structure, develop, and mobilize a network of contacts to support RSF’s missions.
- Represent RSF at advocacy meetings and events.
- Manage RSF’s presence on social networks, particularly targeting English-speaking audiences.
- Act as RSF’s media representative by giving interviews across various media outlets.
Contributing to Campaigns and Projects
- Contribute to campaign actions related to publications, advocacy, communication, or other initiatives, respecting the roles of team members.
- Promote RSF’s projects, especially the Journalism Trust Initiative.
Who Are You?
- A graduate of Sciences Po, Master 2 level, or a journalism school graduate or equivalent, with at least 5 years of successful professional experience, including a minimum of two years in a similar position.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, comfortable engaging with high-level audiences.
- Pragmatic, diplomatic, and convincing, with a strong team spirit to unite diverse stakeholders around common goals.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to mobilize people and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Have a passion for international news, a keen interest in press freedom issues, and knowledge of English-speaking players.
- Be reactive and adaptable, thriving in a stimulating environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is mandatory.
