The United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021–2030), known as the Ocean Decade, aims to support the sustainable development of the Ocean.
Since its launch, the Ocean Decade has grown into a diverse and evolving global ecosystem in ocean science.
The Ocean Decade Coordination Unit is seeking a Volunteer to assist with data management. This position focuses on cleaning and organizing data related to the Ocean Decade’s activities and initiatives.

Role Description
The volunteer will primarily work on cleaning Ocean Decade datasets.
As the Decade Coordination Unit moves towards automating its data management, the volunteer’s efforts will be crucial in preparing data for this transition.
Requirements
- Academic Qualifications: Candidates should be currently enrolled in, or have completed, a Master’s or PhD programme in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related disciplines with a focus on data science.
- Languages: Fluency (written and oral) in English or French is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in data science tools is expected.
