The application deadline for the 2026-27 Rotary Peace Fellowship is May 15, 2025.
This program is designed for professionals with experience in areas such as peacebuilding, conflict resolution, or international development.
Program Details
The program is hosted by the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University, which has been a Rotary International Peace Center since 2011.
The fellowship supports students from around the world to complete a two-year Master’s program.

- Bachelor Programme in Peace and Development Studies
- Master Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies
- Freestanding courses
- PhD Programme in Peace and Conflict Research
Eligibility Requirements
Prospective applicants must meet specific criteria to be considered for the fellowship and admission to the Master’s program.
Key requirements include:
- A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 30 credits in peace and conflict studies or equivalent.
- Completion of a Bachelor’s thesis or academic essays in English as the sole author.
- Meeting country-specific eligibility criteria based on where undergraduate studies were completed.
English Proficiency
Demonstrating English proficiency is required for non-native English speakers. This can be done through internationally recognized tests.
The specific requirement for the Master’s Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University is the equivalent of English 6.

Application Process
The Rotary Peace Fellowships are offered on a globally-competitive basis. The application process for the Rotary Peace Fellowship at Uppsala University is two-fold.
First, applicants submit their Rotary Peace Fellowship application and supplementary materials to the Rotary Foundation through a set online form which can be found on the “My Rotary” website.
Deadline for the first step in the application process (submitting applications to the Rotary Foundation) is 15 May, 2025.

Second, candidates selected to the Uppsala Rotary Peace Fellowship Program then complete the application procedure for admission to the Master’s Programme in Peace and Conflict Studies at Uppsala University.
