About the Program
The primary goal of the 2026 Disney Entertainment Television Writing Program is to staff selected writers on Disney Entertainment Television (DET) series as staff writers during the program year.
It is important to note that staffing is not guaranteed.
The program is tentatively scheduled to last twelve (12) months, beginning in January 2026 and concluding in mid-February of the following year.
Program writers will initially participate in a professional development curriculum designed to prepare them for staffing consideration, including developing and refining an original pilot script to be used as a staffing sample.
The program also aims to foster connections with executives, producers, and showrunners.
Past activities have included workshops led by experienced television writers, producers, and program alumni, as well as networking mixers.
