Communications Officer – EU System for an Enabling Environment for Civil Society (EU SEE)
Hivos is seeking an experienced Communications Officer to lead and implement the global communications and visibility strategy for the EU System for an Enabling Environment for Civil Society (EU SEE) program.
This ambitious program, with a budget of EUR 30 million, works with civil society organizations in 86 countries to monitor the enabling environment and contribute to early warning and action.
The Communications Officer will play a key role in translating program outcomes into engaging external communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the development and implementation of the program’s communications strategy.
- Overseeing the development and content management of the EU SEE Digital Hub.
- Coordinating communication activities, including press releases, social media, and events.
- Ensuring compliance with donor visibility requirements.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience in external communications in a non-profit environment.
- A degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
- A proven track record of using online communications channels to amplify program impact.
- High professional proficiency in English.
Benefits:
- A contract for 32 hours per week based on Hivos Global Office labor conditions.
- A salary ranging from €4.151,21 to €5.523,71 gross per month based on a 36-hour work week (adjusted pro rata).

Project Assistant
Hivos is looking for an enthusiastic Project Assistant to support their worldwide projects and programs.
The Project Assistant will provide crucial operational, financial, event management, communication, and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing project information and monitoring work processes.
- Supporting logistical and administrative activities, such as travel and organizing meetings.
- Assisting the department with administrative and logistical matters.
- Communicating project-related matters with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Relevant work experience in project assistance and administration.
- Relevant level of thinking/education (secondary vocational education or higher).
- Result-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Good command of English is essential.
Benefits:
- A contract for 36 hours per week based on Hivos Global Office labor conditions.
- A salary ranging from €2931,36 to €3.757,56 gross per month based on a 36-hour work week (adjusted pro rata).
