Canadian Olympic Committee is hiring a Coordinator – People and Culture

Headquartered in Toronto, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is a national, private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to achieving excellence in high-performance sport.

As the largest private supporter of high-performance sport in Canada, the COC oversees all aspects of Canada’s involvement in the Olympic Movement, including participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games.

We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Coordinator, People and Culture to join our team in Toronto, ON.

This key role reports directly to the Manager, People and Culture and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization committed to excellence, respect, and inclusivity.

Position Details:

  • Location: 250 Yonge Street, Suite 3000, Toronto, ON
  • Work Model: Hybrid (up to two days of remote work per week)

Key Responsibilities:

People and Culture Administration:

  • Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate pre-screening, reference checks, and drafting employment agreements.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, including leading the P&C Orientation.

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle for entry-level positions as needed.
  • Oversee the COC Intern Program, including establishing partnerships with educational institutions, leading recruitment and onboarding, conducting mid-term and exit interviews, and providing support throughout interns’ work terms.

  • Assist with annual performance management and compensation cycles, including preparing employee communications and maintaining documentation.
  • Design engaging presentations and communications, such as the P&C Dashboard.

Employee Administration:

  • Maintain employee files and information within the HRIS (ADP).
  • Track employee training, policy acknowledgments, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate training programs and staff engagement events.

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits and payroll inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of new hire and change paperwork.
  • Provide backup support for payroll and benefits functions as needed.

General Administration:

  • Manage the P&C team’s event calendar (training, townhalls, staff retreats, etc.).
  • Handle incoming correspondence and draft internal communications and reports.
  • Support efforts to improve employment policies and processes.

  • Prepare invoices and liaise with vendors and agencies.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality in all responsibilities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: University degree or college diploma in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: CHRP designation or progress towards it is an asset.
  • Experience: 2–3 years in HR administration.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • High personal integrity and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills, capable of engaging with employees, managers, and external partners.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive attitude and a sense of urgency.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and eager to learn.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications in a Windows environment.
