About the Scholarship
The Rappler | One Young World Scholarship will provide five exceptional young Filipinos the opportunity to engage with global leaders at the One Young World Summit 2025.
Scholars will focus on initiatives that create a positive impact in two vital areas: Anti-Hate and Responsible Tech.
- Anti-Hate initiatives may include journalism that fosters peace and understanding among diverse groups, advocacy for the protection of minorities, or initiatives that combat hatred, violence, and abuse.
- Responsible Tech initiatives encompass efforts to protect internet users from harm, promote safe social media practices, and utilize technology to safeguard human rights.
Scholar Benefits
Selected scholars will receive:
- Access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich, Germany.
- Hotel accommodation in Munich from 2 November to 7 November.
- Round-trip economy travel to and from Munich.
- Coverage of all meals (including breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the conference days.
- Ground transport between accommodation and the summit venue.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Aged 18 – 30 (with some exceptions for older applicants demonstrating significant personal impact).
- National of the Philippines.
- A proven capacity for leadership.
- A track record of generating positive impact in anti-hate initiatives or responsible technology advocacy.
- Experience in volunteering.
In addition to the scholarship, Rappler Scholars will be required to conduct a community chat concerning an issue significant to their group or community.
This chat will be held in one of the public chat rooms in the Rappler Communities app, which is available for free on both the App Store and Play Store.

Scholars will invite community members, moderate a one-hour live chat, and Rappler will assist in promoting this event.
