Position Overview:
Clean Air Asia is currently seeking a Research Intern for Impact Analysis on LEAP-IBC to join the dynamic team based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

This is a project-based, full-time internship, and the organization is looking for candidates with demonstrated skills in data analysis, environmental research, policy review, and strong written and oral communication skills.

Job Purpose:
The primary responsibility of the intern will be to support the prediction and analysis of potential emission reductions resulting from various interventions employed using the LEAP (Long-range Energy Alternatives Planning) software.
Additionally, the intern will assist in analyzing health impacts with the LEAP-IBC (Integrated Benefits Calculator) module.
Responsibilities and Scope of Work:
Under the direct supervision of the Air Quality & Climate Lead, the Research Intern will undertake the following duties:
- Conduct literature reviews and research on relevant emission reduction interventions, air quality management strategies, and health impact assessment methodologies.
- Support data management, organization, and analysis using LEAP-IBC and other relevant software (e.g., spreadsheets).
- Assist in defining and simulating various interventions (e.g., policy changes, technology adoption) within the LEAP framework.
- Contribute to predicting and quantifying potential emission reductions from these interventions across various sectors.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions relevant to project activities.
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by the supervisor to fulfill overall project goals.
Eligibility Requirements and Criteria:
To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A graduate or final-year student in environmental studies, with a basic understanding of air quality management and emission load calculation.
- A strong interest in air quality management.
- Basic proficiency in operating LEAP tools is required.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with proficiency in gathering and analyzing data from various sources.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Access to a laptop with basic computing software and internet connection.
- Willingness to adhere to Clean Air Asia’s confidentiality and data protection guidelines, particularly when handling project-related information.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid work arrangement (onsite and remote), depending on project needs and supervisor approval.
Duration, Remuneration, and Other Benefits:
The selected candidate will be appointed for a three (3) month period under a full-time internship contract, with the possibility of extension based on funding and satisfactory performance.
Clean Air Asia offers a modest allowance and a flexible time schedule during the internship, though it does not fund international travel or provide accommodation for the intern.
