DAAD Green Hydrogen Fellowships 2025 (Fully-funded)

The Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst e.V. (DAAD) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the DAAD Green Hydrogen Fellowships.

This program is designed to support the education of both German and international PhD and Postdoc students, as well as researchers in the vital field of green hydrogen.

Overview:
As a fellowship holder, applicants will not only receive funding for their study period, Master’s thesis, or internship but will also gain access to one of four key thematic working groups.

This opportunity allows participants to actively contribute to ongoing advancements in the field of green hydrogen, even after the conclusion of their scholarship.

  • Cross-Cutting Issues

🖐️ Eligibility Criteria:

PhD Candidates:

  • Can apply for research stays lasting 1 to 18 months.
  • Can also apply for internships lasting 2-3 months.

Postdoctoral Researchers:

  • Can apply for research stays lasting 1 to 18 months.

⏱️ Application Deadline:

  • Applications can be submitted at any time, but must be submitted at least 4 months prior to the planned stay.

This program supports talents from the following GH2 partner countries around the world:

  • Middle East & North Africa: Algeria, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia
  • Sub-Saharan Africa: Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Cameroon, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Togo
  • Asia & Pacific: Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan

  • Eastern Europe, Central Asia & South Caucasus: Georgia, Ukraine
  • North America: Canada, United States
  • Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico
  • EU Member States and select additional countries.

Interdisciplinary Focus:
The Green Hydrogen Fellowships encourage a wide array of topics related to GH2, including but not limited to:

  • Social Sciences: Economic considerations and societal impacts of hydrogen energy.
  • Cultural Studies: Acceptance of new energy technologies in society.
