Amnesty International invites applications for the exciting position of Digital Content Producer and Social Media Officer within its West & Central Africa Regional Office located in Dakar.
This pivotal role is integral to enhancing our storytelling and digital communications strategy, focusing on the creation of compelling, human-centered content that advances our human rights agenda throughout the region.
The ideal candidate is a bilingual (English/French) content creator with a robust portfolio of video and social media work.

Main Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be tasked with:
- Developing, scripting, shooting, and editing creative, high-quality audio-visual content tailored for social media, internal platforms, and external media.
- Reacting swiftly to news and trending topics with short-form videos, graphics, and copy that reflect Amnesty’s priorities and values.
- Distributing digital content across social channels and managing uploads in line with Amnesty’s global digital asset system (ADAM).
- Monitoring and reporting on social media engagement and performance, utilizing analytics to inform future strategies and explore new approaches.
- Collaborating with campaigners, media teams, local sections, and digital colleagues across the movement to establish content strategies and editorial calendars.
- Ensuring all content aligns with Amnesty’s brand, ethical, and copyright standards.
- Contributing to the growth and engagement of Amnesty’s digital audience in the region by identifying innovative ways to connect with supporters and amplify regional voices.
- Providing strategic insights on social media trends and platform shifts, advising teams on necessary content adaptations.
Skills and Experience
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Proven experience in video content creation, from scripting to post-production, with a strong portfolio.
- Expert-level proficiency in video editing using Adobe Premiere (or Final Cut Pro); familiarity with After Effects is advantageous.
- Strong storytelling instinct, particularly in human rights or social justice contexts.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French, with excellent writing skills in both languages.
- Experience producing content for various digital platforms and managing a multilingual digital presence.
- Understanding of ethical storytelling and sensitive engagement with survivors of human rights violations.
- Knowledge of content strategy, audience engagement, and social media analytics.
- Proficiency in using Canva and email marketing tools; experience with ad platforms (Meta, Twitter, LinkedIn) is a bonus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, often under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Experience with community management and familiarity with the West & Central Africa region is an asset.
- Willingness to travel internationally, as needed.
