
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is excited to announce the opening of applications for the WILDLABS Graduate Intern position, which aims to enhance conservation efforts through innovative technology and research.

Position Overview
For over 60 years, WWF has dedicated its efforts to ensuring that people and nature thrive together.
The BRIDGE internship program, established in 2021, is a paid opportunity aimed at undergraduate and graduate students who may be new to the environmental sector.
In line with this initiative, WWF seeks a graduate intern for WILDLABS, the largest global conservation technology community, comprising over 11,000 members across 120+ countries.
The intern will be pivotal in compiling a trends report to reflect on the evolution of conservation technology since the foundation of WWF’s 2020 research.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative survey data collected over the last five years regarding the adoption and impact of conservation technologies.
- Develop a comprehensive “State of Conservation Technology” trends report summarizing barriers, opportunities, and advancements.
- Conduct supplementary research to contextualize findings within the broader innovation landscape in conservation technology.
- Create engaging data visualizations to effectively communicate insights.
- Draft high-quality written content suitable for publication and outreach.
- Collaborate with the WILDLABS team to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Assist in preparing and disseminating press materials and presentations for various audiences.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Enrollment in a graduate program related to conservation biology, social science, data science, natural resource management, or a related field. Applicants must be enrolled and not hold a degree by the internship start date (June 16, 2025).
- Strong experience with data analysis, including proficiency in software such as R, Python, and Excel.
- Familiarity with social science research, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, particularly for scientific or technical reporting.
- Demonstrated interest or background in conservation technology.
- Alignment with WWF’s core values, demonstrating courage, integrity, respect, and collaboration in professional interactions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ggplot2).
- Understanding of global conservation challenges, including multilateral environmental agreements.
- Basic proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with charting libraries and the Drupal ecosystem.
- Experience with relational databases is advantageous.
Learning Outcomes
Interns will gain valuable experience in analyzing longitudinal data, developing data-driven reports, and expanding their professional networks.
They will also enhance their understanding of conservation technology trends and barriers while strengthening their professional communication and collaborative skills.

Location and Compensation
The internship is flexible with options for remote work from Washington DC or other states, excluding Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, and Wyoming.
Interns are expected to work during Eastern Time hours from 9 AM to 5 PM. Compensation for this position is $22.50 per hour, for a full-time commitment of 35 hours per week.
Internship Dates: The internship will run from June 16, 2025, to August 22, 2025.
