Background

The Strategic Planning Unit (SPU) within the Strategy, Planning, Resources, and Effectiveness Division (SPRED) is pivotal in assisting UN Women and its partners to attain higher-quality development results through an integrated approach linking strategic planning and Results-Based Management (RBM).
The SPU serves as the custodian of RBM, overseeing strategic planning and results-based reporting both at the corporate and field levels.
It aims to promote collaborative planning and programmatic learning while fostering innovation, ensuring that UN Women’s initiatives are effective, knowledge-driven, and results-oriented.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Strategic Planning Specialist, the intern will play a vital role within the ‘Data and System Workstream’, focusing on supporting the development and maintenance of the Results Management System (RMS).
The intern’s responsibilities include:
Technical Meetings and Consultation Sessions
- Assist in planning and organizing meetings focused on data integration, AI development, and RMS enhancements.
- Document feedback and follow-up actions from these discussions.
Design and Development
- Design guidelines, learning materials, and documentation related to data, systems, and AI applications.
- Develop and disseminate knowledge products such as articles, presentations, and short videos to enhance communication and visibility.
Advocacy Communication and Capacity Building
- Create and disseminate communication materials promoting systems related to planning, monitoring, reporting, and transparency.
- Assist in designing and executing training sessions on existing and new systems.

Qualifications
Education: Candidates must be pursuing studies in research, communications, knowledge management, business administration, or other relevant fields and meet one of the following conditions:
- Enrolled in a postgraduate degree program.
- In the final year of a bachelor’s degree program.
- Enrolled in a mandatory national service program requiring an internship.
- Recently graduated (within two years) with a relevant university degree.
Language:
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is advantageous.
Renumeration
Interns not receiving financial support from other sources will be provided a stipend by UN Women to partially cover living expenses during the internship.
