Organisational Overview:
Global Girl Project (GGP) is an international charity dedicated to mobilising marginalised girls within the Majority World (Global South) to become agents of social change through community development and social action.

Founded nine years ago in the US as a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, GGP became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in the UK in 2019.

The organisation partners with well-established organisations and schools to run innovative and impactful leadership programming for girls aged between 13 to 18 years globally.

Role Overview

The Programme Manager will join a small, passionate, and remote team committed to feminist and anti-colonial development work.

This integral role will help drive the organisation’s programming forward, aiming to enhance GGP’s impact during a period of significant growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising (35% of time):

  • Develop strong and equitable relationships with global implementation partners, focusing on collaborative fundraising.
  • Build an ecosystem of partners to create connections, facilitate learning, and explore new funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the CEO in fundraising efforts, including grant writing and donor reporting.

Programmes & Impact (45% of time):

  • Lead the development of a new curriculum that enhances the Global Girl Leadership Initiative.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to expand and strategise the Global Girl Leadership Initiative.

  • Strengthen the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning system, particularly focusing on longitudinal data collection.

  • Ensure the effective running of programmes across ten global locations, supporting Regional Programme Coordinators.
  • Develop a thriving network of girls worldwide committed to making community change.

Administration (20% of time):

  • Oversee the content management of the online learning platform.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to establish organisational processes that align with GGP’s feminist values.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented across programmes.

Practicalities

This position is a full-time (four days a week/32 hours), 12-month contract role, with the possibility of extension based on funding and candidate suitability.

The successful candidate will be considered self-employed. Availability during the organisation’s “golden hours” of 10 am – 3 pm UK time (GMT/BST) is essential.

Flexibility to work with global partners may require early mornings, evenings, or weekends. Only candidates within the timezones GMT – GMT+5.5 will be considered.

As a global organisation, GGP is seeking a candidate residing in one of the regions where it operates; applications from those based in the Global North will not be accepted.

Pay Rate: Compensation will be benchmarked according to similar roles in the candidate’s location, adjusted for the local cost of living, reflecting pay equity across the global team.

Compensation may differ from larger corporate organisations in development, considering the feminist charity’s values. All payments will be made in the candidate’s local currency.

You Will Be:

  • Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to propose and implement new ideas remotely.
  • Highly organised and efficient, capable of managing a large programme across multiple countries.
  • Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, multi-time zone environment.

  • Skilled in building respectful relationships through teamwork.
  • Creative and flexible, with the ability to innovate under pressure.

  • Comfortable balancing remote work and independent tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Enthusiastic about cross-cultural engagement and committed to a feminist charity that embraces a unique developmental approach.

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years in programme management and impact measurement.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing programme teams and international projects.
  • Proven track record in programming delivery across various regions, particularly Latin America, Caribbean, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, East Asia.

  • Skilled in developing curricula for young people from marginalised backgrounds, particularly girls.
  • Strong background in impact measurement systems and data analysis.

  • Experience in environments with low technology penetration.
  • Fundraising experience with a focus on creative funding partnerships.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with SquareSpace and strong technical skills with tools like Google Sheets.
  • An undergraduate degree is preferred but not mandatory.
