
The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) is pleased to announce that applications are OPEN for its Scientific Traineeship Program.
This program offers a 5-month paid traineeship for recent university graduates in various scientific fields.
Selected trainees will have the opportunity to work at one of the JRC’s esteemed locations in Geel (Belgium), Ispra (Italy), Petten (the Netherlands), Karlsruhe (Germany), or Seville (Spain).

- Eligibility: University graduates with a minimum of a 3-year degree (equivalent to 180 ECTS credits)
Who Can Apply?
- Nationals of EU Member States and countries associated with Horizon Europe may apply.
- Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of at least two EU languages, including English (C1) for EU candidates, while non-EU candidates must have a thorough knowledge of English (C1).

Compensation:

Applications for the October 2025 session are now being accepted. The JRC offers two traineeship sessions per year—March and October—each lasting 5 months. Interested candidates should ensure they submit their applications within the provided timeframe, as spontaneous applications will not be considered.
Research Fields:
The program focuses primarily on candidates with a scientific background. Trainees may be required to perform desktop work and/or laboratory tasks, depending on the project assigned.
Application Location:
Traineeships are conducted on-site with limited teleworking options available. Candidates will have the opportunity to indicate preferred JRC site(s) in their application.
