Step Forward with the UN Talent Pipeline – Learn, Grow, Contribute

The UN Talent Pipeline serves as a valuable opportunity for mid-career professionals eager to contribute to the global mission of the United Nations Secretariat.

This capacity-building programme is specifically designed to enhance the readiness of candidates from unrepresented and underrepresented developing countries, thereby promoting a more diverse UN workforce.

What is the UN Talent Pipeline?

The UN Talent Pipeline is a strategic initiative supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China through the Trust Fund for UN Peace and Development.

It plays a pivotal role in contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 16.8, which advocates for the inclusion of developing countries in global governance structures.

Application Process and Commitment

Candidates may choose from nine specialized job families when applying to the Talent Pipeline. It is important to remember that applicants can only select one pipeline at a time.

Participation in the programme does not entail any financial commitment from both sides; however, selected members must commit to completing a structured training and capacity-building programme.

This commitment entails approximately three to five hours per month over a three to six-month period. Training will comprise a blend of self-paced learning modules and instructor-led virtual group webinars.

While participation in the programme does not guarantee employment within the UN Secretariat, the knowledge and skills acquired will notably enhance candidates’ competitiveness for UN positions.

Take the First Step!

This is an invaluable opportunity for professionals to expand their skill sets, enhance their networking capabilities, and prepare for future career possibilities within the UN framework.
