
The Taiwan Alliance in International Development (Taiwan AID) is pleased to announce the 2025 NGO Fellowship Program, aimed at empowering NGO professionals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Island Region who are committed to making a significant impact within their communities.
This unique program combines hands-on experience with Taiwanese NGOs, diverse workshops, and invaluable networking opportunities with peers and experts.
About the Program
The 2025 NGO Fellowship Program offers a distinctive blend of professional experiences, including:
NGO Placement: Fellows will be matched with a Taiwanese NGO that aligns with their professional backgrounds, engaging in their daily operations for three weeks. Activities may range from event preparation and project management to fundraising.
Capacity Building: The program kicks off with a four-day workshop focusing on project management, fundraising, and advocacy. Additionally, fellows will have the opportunity to visit civil society sites relevant to Taiwan’s civil society.
Roundtable Event: On the sixth day of the program, fellows will participate in a roundtable event, where they will collaborate with Taiwanese NGO professionals to share practical experiences and insights from the field.
Future Project Collaboration: As a culmination of their learning, fellows will draft a project proposal aimed at future collaboration in their home countries, enabling continued partnerships between fellows and host NGOs.
Program Schedule (Tentative)
- Oct. 12: Arrival in Taipei
- Oct. 13 – Oct. 17: Workshop, civil society site visits, and roundtable
- Oct. 20 – Nov. 06: Field placement in various NGOs across Taiwan, tailored to the fellow’s expertise
- Nov. 07: Program wrap-up in Taipei
- Nov. 08: Departure from Taipei
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Profession: Must currently be involved in NGO work across areas such as Community Development, Environment, Education, Gender, Human Rights, LGBTQ, Medical Services, Social Welfare, Emergency Relief, NGO Platforms, or Accountability.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in the NGO sector is required.
- Professionalism: Candidates should demonstrate professional excellence, independence, and motivation, with the ability to complete an independent fellowship.
- Age: Applicants must be between 25 to 40 years old.
Country of Origin: Eligible participants may come from the following regions:
- Southeast Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam
- South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan
- Northeastern Asia: Japan, South Korea, Mongolia
- Pacific Island Region: Palau, Marshall Islands, Tuvalu
- Language: Proficiency in written and oral English is mandatory; fluency in Mandarin is advantageous.
