(Remote) Finance and Operations Manager opportunity at the Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform

The Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform, a vital initiative of the Australian Government funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and managed by DT Global, seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance and Operations Manager.

This exciting role will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of the Platform’s programs across Pacific Island nations.

Location and Structure

This position is based in Melbourne, Australia and offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement, with occasional travel required throughout Australia and the Pacific Islands.

The contract will be in place until 30 June 2028.

About the Platform

The Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform provides Pacific Countries with a range of adaptable and tailored options, designed to be specifically effective.

This flexibility ensures the programs are responsive to the unique needs and circumstances of each nation within the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing financial records, ensuring compliance with all relevant Australian and international regulations, and producing comprehensive financial reports.
  • Overseeing all operational aspects of the Platform, including logistics, procurement, and staff coordination.

  • Developing and implementing systems to streamline administrative processes and enhance overall efficiency.

  • Representing the Platform at meetings and events both domestically and internationally.
  • Managing stakeholder relations with Australian Government representatives and Pacific Island partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar management role within a complex international environment, ideally within the development or aid sector.

  • Demonstrable expertise in project management, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Strong understanding of Australian and international financial regulations and accounting practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other Pacific Island languages is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in managing remote or dispersed teams.
