As the world gears up for the FIFA World Cup 2026, a historic event that will feature 48 teams and be hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, FIFA is seeking passionate individuals to join the Future Leaders Internship Program.

Objective: To provide foundational experience and exposure to FIFA’s operations and culture.

This program presents a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the planning and execution of an event that promises to be innovative, inclusive, and unforgettable.

The Position

The 12-week Future Leaders program offers undergraduate and graduate students the chance to gain hands-on experience in various Functional Areas of our organization.

Interns will work closely with mentors and team members to engage in meaningful assignments that foster skill development and professional growth.

  • Duration: 12 weeks of paid work, from September 2025 to December 2025
  • Employment Type: Internship
  • Location: Toronto
  • Workplace Type: Onsite

Eligibility: Students entering the final one or two years of a 2025/2026 academic program in an accredited undergraduate or graduate Co-op/Internship program, OR recent graduates within the last 12 months from a relevant program.

Responsibilities:

Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of individual projects under the guidance of mentors.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop essential skills.
  • Contribute ideas during team meetings and brainstorming sessions.

  • Analyze data and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Complete assigned projects within given deadlines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.
  • Develop and execute strategies to address real-world challenges.

  • Safety, Security & Emergency Readiness
  • Government & Community Engagement
  • Football Operations (e.g., Competition & Team Services)

  • Venue & Stadium Services Management
  • Tournament Operations (e.g., Transportation, Accommodation, Volunteer Management)
  • Commercial & Public Relations (e.g., Brand & Marketing, Public Relations, Ticketing)

Department placements will be aligned based on both preferences and an evaluation of individual backgrounds and experiences.

Working Hours:

The program follows traditional business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Participants will work full-time, onsite at the FIFA26 Canada Toronto Office.

Your Profile

Candidates are encouraged to demonstrate the following competencies based on the FIFA World Cup 26 Skills Framework:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Must meet one of the following:
    • Entering final one or two years of a 2025/2026 academic program; OR
    • Graduated with a degree within the last 12 months from a relevant program.
  • Relevant coursework or experience in the chosen functional area.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Languages:

  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in French is an added advantage.

Technology:

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and online collaboration tools.
