About the Role:
The IOC is seeking passionate candidates for the position of Trainee – Olympic Movement Unit on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions (OM Unit PMC).
This internship will provide an immersive experience, enriching the trainee’s understanding of legal and compliance frameworks while aiding in the development of awareness-raising activities and tools aimed at safeguarding the integrity of sports competitions.
Your Responsibilities:
As a trainee in the OM Unit PMC, you will play an integral role in supporting the unit’s strategic goals. The key responsibilities include:
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the OM Unit PMC, aligning with the Unit’s overarching Strategy.
Administrative Support: Aid in the daily operations of the unit, assisting with various administrative and organizational needs.
Legal & Compliance:
- Act as a point of contact for National Olympic Committees (NOCs) regarding the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions, providing educational support and engaging in case management.
- Maintain and update a vital database for assessing the compliance of International Federations’ rules with Olympic standards.
- Facilitate interactions with multi-sport event organizers to prevent manipulation of competitions.
- Support the planning and follow-up of global, regional, and national workshops and seminars organized by the unit.
- Assist the Ethics and Compliance Office with forums focused on competition integrity.
Awareness-Raising:
- Generate content and resources for the campaign against competition manipulation, elevating awareness among stakeholders.
- Coordinate the IOC’s Believe in Sport activations leading up to and during significant Olympic events, including Milano-Cortina 2026 and Dakar 2026.
- Deliver impactful campaigns and presentations for elite athletes and officials both on-site and virtually.
- Enhance the Unit’s communication strategy and digital presence, ensuring alignment with Olympic values.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including International Federations, NOCs, and Athlete Ambassadors.
- Assist in the implementation of the Unit’s 2025 – 2028 Awareness Raising Strategy.
Additional Responsibilities: Adapt and support various other tasks within the OM Unit PMC, including data management for intelligence and investigations, and providing administrative support across the Ethics & Compliance Department as necessary.
Our Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a University program for a degree or equivalent.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a notable benefit.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook).
- Experience in digital media is highly desirable.
- A steadfast commitment to the Olympic Values and the unifying power of sport is essential.
- A background in political science, international relations, law, or education is favorable.
- Experience in planning or executing awareness-raising initiatives would be an asset.
- Familiarity with the sports movement and integrity campaigns enhances the application.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on prioritization and efficiency.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in written communication, alongside a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrating diligence in following up on files; excellent drafting and presentation abilities.
