International Olympic Committee (IOC): Partnership Management Trainee Program

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is seeking a Partnership Management Trainee to join their Television & Marketing Services department based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This is a 12-month internship with a 100% activity level, designed for individuals passionate about the Olympic Movement and eager to support the vibrant community of Olympic stakeholders.

About the International Olympic Committee

As the guardian of the Olympic Games, the IOC plays a pivotal role in leading the Olympic Movement.

The organization acts as a catalyst for collaboration among various Olympic stakeholders, including athletes, National Olympic Committees, International Federations, and Worldwide Olympic Partners.

The IOC also partners with public and private authorities, including the United Nations and other international organizations, to foster a unified sporting culture across the globe.

Role Summary

In this dynamic role, the Partnership Management Trainee will support the Partnership Management Team in overseeing and enhancing the relationships with the IOC’s TOP Partners, thereby contributing to the growth and sustainability of both the Olympic and Paralympic Movements.

Key Responsibilities

The trainee will actively participate in various activities, including:

Daily Project Tracking: Assist the Partnership Management team in monitoring the objectives, deliverables, and projects of TOP Partners, including preparing status reports and project plans.

Research & Analysis: Compile valuable intelligence and information on TOP Partners, additional sports properties, and trends within the industry to identify opportunities for value creation in the TOP Programme.

Documentation Preparation: Create essential documents such as presentations, spreadsheets, and memorandums to aid both internal and external meetings, as well as facilitate effective communication.

Communication Coordination: Streamline communications for TOP Partners as a collective and cater to individual requirements as needed.

Meeting Participation: Engage in both external and internal meetings, supporting the PM team with minute-taking and coordinating follow-up actions.

Project Management Support: Assist in managing specific TOP Partner projects and other PM team initiatives.

Administrative Functions: Support in administrative tasks including SharePoint management, meeting planning, and documentation of weekly encounters.

Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates should meet the following requirements:

Educational Background: Current student or graduate from a university or business school (or a related field).

Technical Proficiency: Excellent command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and other corporate tools.

Language Skills: Fluency in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in an additional language is an asset.

Athletic Experience: Active or retired Olympian or Paralympian athlete status is a plus.

Project Management Skills: Demonstrated strong project management skills and an interest in a commercial environment.

Sports Knowledge: Understanding or experience within the sports media industry or sports governing bodies is preferred. Knowledge of the media landscape is also advantageous.

Data Management: Ability to compile data and present key information in clear, approachable formats.

Familiarity with Olympic Movement: An understanding of the Olympic Movement is beneficial.

Adaptability: Capable of adjusting to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines while maintaining a positive attitude.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a “can do” mentality aimed at overcoming challenges.

Attention to Detail: Acute attention to detail and organizational skills, showcasing proactivity.

Ethical Standards: Strong sense of initiative, rigorous professional ethics, and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact positively with diverse team members.
