In this spirit, Holcim is proud to partner once again with One Young World to introduce the Holcim Scholarship, which this year focuses on expanding the dialogue surrounding AI and its role in enhancing sustainability and urban resilience.
The program will empower an interdisciplinary cohort of five young leaders to join Holcim’s global delegation at the upcoming One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich.
This scholarship aims to support young leaders making strides in any of the following vital areas:
Deploying disruptive AI technologies for sustainable construction: Enhancing operational efficiency, material selection, waste management, eco-friendly building design, or energy efficiency.
Employing AI solutions for urban resilience: Implementing strategies in disaster prediction and management, traffic management systems, infrastructure maintenance, or climate adaptation planning.
Ensuring responsible deployment of AI in urban development: Establishing regulatory and policy frameworks, engaging communities, raising awareness, or fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
Scholars will receive:
- Access to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich, Germany, taking place from 3 – 6 November 2025.
- Hotel accommodation in Munich from 2 – 6 November (inclusive).
- Round-trip travel to and from Munich (economy class).
- All meals covered (including breakfast, lunch, and dinner on conference days).
- Any necessary ground transport between the Summit accommodation and venue.
- A pre-programme in Munich prior to the Summit.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible candidates for the Building Tomorrow Scholarship should meet the following requirements:
- Aged 18 – 30.
- Actively making a positive impact in one of the scholarship’s targeted areas:
- Deploying AI technologies for sustainable construction
- Employing AI solutions for urban resilience
- Responsible deployment of artificial intelligence in urban development.
