Duties and Responsibilities
Interns will take on various tasks, including but not limited to:
- Developing template forms for efficient data storage and maintaining up-to-date databases.
- Interfacing with current technology to identify solutions for Travel and Events challenges.
- Monitoring payment statuses with the LTA travel agency and staying in regular contact.
- Keeping a payment status table updated and alerting relevant parties about significant changes in pending payments.
- Supporting hotel reservations for visiting UN/UNDP officials.
- Assisting with visa requests for UN travelers, in coordination with visa agencies.
- Arranging airport pick-ups and expediting customs and immigration processes.
- Supporting the preparation of routine correspondence and reports.
- Liaising with service providers to find suitable options for workshops and conferences.
- Providing on-site support during events and informing Plaza reception about expected guests.
- Offering additional support as needed to the IRH Travel and Events Unit.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme;
- In the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s);
- Graduated with a university degree in fields such as Tourism/Hotel management, and must begin the internship within one year of graduation;
- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program.
Experience:
- Prior work experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience in travel agency or hotel management is advantageous but not required.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential;
- Knowledge of Turkish or Russian is an asset.
Learning Opportunities
Interns will gain insights into regional travel, logistics, and event management practices, along with a foundational understanding of UNDP concepts.
Internship Conditions
- Interns receive a monthly stipend of USD1 279.16.
- All costs associated with the internship (travel, accommodation, etc.) must be covered by the student or their educational institution.
- Applicants must arrange their visa and residence documents well in advance.
Internships range from a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of 6 months. Candidates must provide:
- An official letter confirming enrollment in a graduate-level degree programme;
- Proof of medical and life/accident insurance valid for the internship location.
