Team Leader (Remote) opportunity at Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform’s Support Unit

The Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform is a vital initiative of the Australian Government, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and managed by DT Global.

This program provides Pacific countries with flexible, tailored options for promoting sustainable governance and stable development outcomes.

DT Global is committed to fostering inclusive prosperity, social equity, and environmental stewardship across the globe, working in over 90 countries with a diverse team of 2,500 experts.

Position Overview

The Support Unit of the Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform is seeking a dynamic and visionary Team Leader.

This is a leadership role that will drive transformative programs, foster strong partnerships with partner governments, and lead a talented, multidisciplinary team in a vibrant cross-cultural environment.

The Team Leader will also champion effective program monitoring, evaluation, and the integration of Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles.

Key Details

  • Duration: Up to 30 June 2028 (with the possibility of extension).
  • Location: Fully remote, work-from-home position with some travel in Australia and the Pacific.
  • Remuneration: Competitive remuneration and benefits package, plus inclusion on a merit list for similar roles in other Pacific countries.

About the Role

The Team Leader will be accountable for establishing strong strategic relationships with partner governments, DFAT, and other key stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing strategic leadership and adaptive program management of economic governance initiatives in Nauru, Tuvalu, Kiribati, RMI, and FSM.
  • Facilitating the development of the Partnerships Platform Annual Work Plan and ensuring quality implementation aligned with agreed results and key performance indicators.

  • Strengthening partnerships with DFAT, other donors, NGOs, regional organizations, and the private sector to optimize program outcomes.
  • Managing the performance of the Support Unit team and ensuring resource allocation is aligned with the Head Deed and Service Orders.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

Educational Background: Tertiary qualifications in Public Policy, International Development, Business Management, or related fields, or equivalent experience.

Leadership and Management: Proven track record in leadership, strategic oversight, and project management.

Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to establish effective relationships with government, NGOs, and donor organizations in developing regions.

Development Experience: Substantial experience driving international development program strategies and results M&E.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong capability to cultivate productive relationships and support multidisciplinary teams within cross-cultural contexts.
