The Team
Global Development includes a diverse range of program areas aimed at delivering creative solutions and products to low-income countries.

Our focus areas include Emergency Response, Family Planning, Maternal Newborn & Child Health, Nutrition, and Polio Eradication.

The Global Development team partners closely with Country Office Teams to align our health and development equity agenda with broader governmental priorities.

Your Role
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and maintenance of a wide range of projects associated with grants and contracts.

This includes managing investment portfolios with an emphasis on processes, systems, initial investment due diligence, and timeline management.

The role may also involve budget oversight and financial analysis to support programmatic strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant and Contracts Coordination: Oversee the development, management, and closure of grants while coordinating contracts, tracking invoicing and deliverables, and ensuring compliance with the INVEST system.
  • Investment Analysis: Shape and analyze the investment portfolio to align with organizational goals while balancing various portfolio factors.

  • Facilitation of Planning: Facilitate planning and alignment of team priorities and support execution meetings and reviews.
  • Collaboration: Work with business partners, grantees, and vendors throughout the investment lifecycle to effectively lead investments through internal and external processes.

  • Quality Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with grantees and partners, ensuring high-quality interactions.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Act as an authority on processes and tools, providing training and support to ensure successful adoption among the program team and external partners.

  • Cross-Foundation Projects: Participate in cross-foundation initiatives, collaborating with various departments.

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in project management, portfolio management, program management, financial management, or non-profit sectors.

  • Demonstrated flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment along with the ability to learn swiftly.
  • Proven effectiveness in influencing a diverse range of individuals without explicit authority.

  • Capable of managing multiple demands and establishing priorities amid complexity.
  • Familiarity with investment rules, regulations, and practices, with the ability to advise when applicable.

  • Strong communication skills to interact with external partners at various levels.
  • Proficient in investment-making systems, Excel, SharePoint, and possess basic site administration skills.

Other Attributes:

  • This position is a limited-term role for 9 months based in Ethiopia. Relocation will not be provided.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work in Ethiopia without visa sponsorship.
  • Expected travel: 25% of the time.
