
Call for Applications: UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education – 2025

The UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education recognizes and celebrates exceptional and innovative practices that advance girls’ and women’s education, thereby enhancing the quality of their lives.
Established in 2015 and supported by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Prize consists of two awards of US $50,000 each, designed to further the impactful work of the laureates in this critical field.
This initiative directly contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 5.
Who Can Nominate?
Nominations can be made by:
- Governments of UNESCO Member States through their Permanent Delegations to UNESCO
- Non-governmental organizations that have an official partnership with UNESCO. Each entity may submit up to three nominations.
Self-nominations are not accepted.
Who Can Be Nominated?
The Prize is open to:
- Individuals, institutions, or organizations that are actively advancing girls’ and women’s education.
- Eligible nominees must be engaged in an established and ongoing project or programme that has been operational for at least two years.

How to Nominate?
Nominations are required to be submitted in either English or French via an online platform, strictly no later than 12 May 2025 at midnight, Paris time.
