Our mission is to accelerate the growth of Inclusive Instant Payment Systems (IIPS) to ensure that all Africans, including the most disadvantaged, can access crucial financial services.
AfricaNenda believes that by developing and implementing inclusive instant payment infrastructures, we can achieve universal financial accessibility for millions by 2030.
We provide technical assistance for project design and proofs-of-concept, and work alongside policymakers to create an enabling environment for these systems.
By engaging with governments, institutions, and the private sector, AfricaNenda fosters collaboration aimed at meeting continental objectives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy.

Internship Key Responsibilities
The Program Support Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Advocacy and Capacity Development Team through the following responsibilities:
Research and Analysis
- Conduct desk research to bolster team presentations.
- Monitor industry trends and advocacy opportunities.
- Assist in creating presentations and reports for various initiatives.
Amplification Support
- Help organize virtual and physical events to amplify our initiatives.
Project Management and Reporting
- Develop and maintain tools to track project progress.
- Ensure timely updates and assist in meeting documentation.
Data Management and Organization
- Maintain and update contact lists for various initiatives.
- Track engagement metrics and stakeholder interactions.
Annual Campaign Execution
- Support the implementation of cross-functional campaign activities.
Skills Development and Adaptability
- Gain hands-on experience across project management and advocacy.
- Adapt to diverse tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, international relations, social sciences, or a related field.
Skills:
- Strong research and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passionate about financial inclusion and digital payments.
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude.
- Basic project management and data analysis skills.
- Understanding of digital financial ecosystems and industry trends is advantageous.
- Fluency in additional languages (English plus French/Arabic/Portuguese) is a plus.
Learning Outcomes
- Practical experience in the context of Digital Financial Services (DFS) and payment systems in Africa.
- Development of critical skills in research, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Deeper understanding of the challenges and benefits within the African digital payments landscape.
