Responsibilities

The selected experts will contribute to FAO’s efforts in enhancing community-led forest production and protection. The specific tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting assessments of community-based forestry regimes for improving forest conditions and livelihoods.
  • Researching enabling factors and barriers in community-based forestry and small-scale forestry.

  • Drafting technical reports and publications on relevant topics.
  • Providing technical support for field project implementations.
  • Assisting in the development of training materials and sharing knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree in forestry, natural resources management, social sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in sustainable forestry practices at local or community levels.
  • Proficiency in one of the official FAO languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish).
