About the Organization
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), a regional office of the World Health Organization (WHO), is dedicated to the enhancement of public health in the Americas.
With offices in multiple countries, including Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras, PAHO plays a pivotal role in supporting health development processes and shaping health agendas on a subregional, regional, and global scale.
This roster aims to fill vacancies in various PAHO country offices as they arise in the years ahead.
Objective of the Office/Department
The selected candidates will contribute to efficient technical cooperation programs, ensuring that country offices deliver on the mission of providing adequate support to the national health development processes.
Description of Duties
Under the direct supervision of the PAHO/WHO Representative (PWR), and the general guidance of the Director of Administration (AM), the administrator will carry out essential tasks including:
- Implementing PAHO standard systems for administering human, financial, and material resources.
- Collaborating with management to plan, organize, and evaluate administrative services.
- Formulating and monitoring budgetary estimates for projects.
- Administering and controlling funds according to established regulations.
- Supervising office systems and ensuring synergy with corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Developing training programs to enhance office efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Essential: Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, finance, economics, or related fields from an accredited university.
- Desirable: A master’s degree in management or business administration.
Experience:
- P2 Level: Minimum of five years of professional experience in administration, including supervisory responsibilities.
- P3 Level: Minimum of seven years of professional experience in the same areas.
Skills:
- PAHO Competencies: Integrity, teamwork, respect for individual differences, effective communication, producing results, resource management, and adaptability to change.
- Technical Expertise: Proven knowledge in administration, budgeting, financial/accounting administration, and human resources management.
- Languages: Proficient in English or Spanish, with knowledge of the other language preferred; knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is an asset.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in technology, including ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
Remuneration
Annual Salary:
- P2: USD $55,163.00 + post adjustment
- P3: USD $70,212.00 + post adjustment
Post Adjustment: Variations may occur each month.
