Background Information: The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC), supported by Dubai Cares, in collaboration with Plan International and Unbounded Associates, is excited to announce the launch of the second iteration of its action-based program: Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program.
This initiative aims to empower youth by connecting their passions and skills to meaningful green career pathways, thereby contributing to global sustainability efforts.
About the Program:
The Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program is designed for individuals aged 14 to 20. This program builds on knowledge acquired from the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course.
Participants will connect their interests with impactful green job opportunities.
- Workshops: Engage in expert-led workshops focusing on project management, presentation skills, and critical topics such as education, gender, and climate.
- Mentorship: Receive personalized mentorship from green job professionals.
- SDG Micro-Project: Implement a project that addresses one or more Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in local communities.
By participating in this program, you will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of green jobs and the skills needed to pursue them.
- Participate in tailored workshops that enhance project management and pitching skills.
- Design and implement your own SDG Micro-Project with guidance from a mentor.
- Receive extensive one-on-one mentorship and actionable career pathways.
- Build professional connections and enhance networking skills.
Program Highlights:
- A competitive selection process will identify 22 candidates from around the globe.
- Program activities will run from June to December 2025.
- Virtual workshops will be held from 14:00-16:00 CEST; availability in your time zone is essential.
Program Dates:
- May – Announcement of selection results and initial communications
- June 2025 – Online Kick-off Ceremony
- June-August 2025 – Virtual Expert Workshops
- July-December 2025 – Self-paced implementation of SDG Micro-Projects
- December 2025 – Online Graduation Ceremony
Eligibility:
- Aged between 14 and 20 years old
- Successfully completed the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course
- Demonstrated motivation and interest in sustainable development and green careers
- A passion for effecting change at both local and global levels
- Upper-intermediate English language skills
- Access to a stable Internet connection
- Open to applicants worldwide, capable of participating in meetings 14:00-16:00 CEST.

Application Process: The deadline for applications is 23:55 CEST on Tuesday, April 22nd.
During the application process, you will need to provide:
- Personal details including name, contact information, date of birth, address, citizenship, education, language competence, and a short profile description.
- A statement of your professional aspirations and motivations for participating (field of interest, challenges you aim to address, initial SDG Micro-Project ideas, etc.).
At the final stage of the application process, you will be prompted to attach:
- A portrait photo (JPEG or PNG format).
- A brief introduction video (maximum 1 minute, MP4 or MOV format).
- Your CV in a simple format (optional).
