
Girls for Climate Action (G4CA) is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for the Climate Corps Fellowship 2025!
The deadline for applications is 7th May 2025.
This is a fully funded 6-month program designed to empower 25 young women and girls aged 16-30 in Uganda with essential tools and skills to become effective climate advocates and activists.
About Girls for Climate Action (G4CA)
G4CA is dedicated to fostering youth engagement and advocacy in climate justice.
With a mission to mobilize young women and girls, the organization works tirelessly to create impactful solutions and drive awareness towards pressing environmental issues.
Through the Climate Corps Fellowship, G4CA seeks to cultivate champions for climate action who will lead initiatives within their communities and influence policies on both national and international stages.
Fellowship Highlights
Training and Development: Participants will engage in a 1-week residential training and a series of virtual sessions tailored for skill-building in climate science, advocacy, and policy engagement.
Mentorship: Each fellow will be matched with a mentor to guide them through the program, ensuring personalized support as they embark on their advocacy journeys.
Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow changemakers, engage in various national and international policy discussions, and contribute to collective efforts in climate justice.
Project Implementation: Participants will be empowered to develop their own projects, receive funding opportunities, and culminate their experience with the co-creation of the Eco-feminist manifesto.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Residence: Must live and work in Uganda.
- Advocacy for Climate Justice: Preference will be given to individuals with experience or a strong interest in climate advocacy.
- Gender Inclusivity: While the fellowship is open to all genders, emphasis will be placed on those who identify as girls or women.
- Experience: Individuals with at least 2 years of advocacy experience in climate action will be prioritized.
- Age Requirement: Open to young women and girls between 16-30 years old at the time of application.
- Commitment: Must be self-driven and dedicated to working on individual projects.
