Opportunities for Young Researchers from developing countries: TWAS Young Affiliates 2025

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) is dedicated to advancing scientific excellence and nurturing the next generation of researchers in developing countries.

Established in 1983, TWAS is an international organization headquartered in Trieste, Italy, that promotes sustainable development through research, knowledge sharing, and fostering collaborations among scientists.

With a commitment to empowering young scientists, TWAS aims to bridge the scientific community across the globe and has developed programs that support researchers who aspire to make significant impacts in their fields.

Do you know a young researcher from a developing country who demonstrates potential for a high-impact career? Nominations are now open for the TWAS Young Affiliates 2025!

🤝 During their six-year tenure, Young Affiliates will have the opportunity to build invaluable networks with other affiliates and with elected TWAS Fellows.

They will also attend international conferences, such as the prestigious TWAS General Meeting, enriching their research with diverse perspectives and collaborations.

Every year, TWAS’s Regional Partners select up to 25 scientists younger than 40 to become Young Affiliates.

This esteemed honour is awarded to researchers who have shown exceptional promise and have laid a strong foundation for a potentially transformative career in science.
