Background of the Organization:
Since 2014, ICFJ and News Corp have joined forces to enhance the skills of journalists from Africa, India, Mexico, and Russia.
Each year, they bring talented reporters to the newsrooms of WSJ in New York and London, providing them with hands-on training, mentorship, and insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of journalism.
Over 1,000 journalists have seized this chance to immerse themselves in some of the world’s most innovative newsrooms.
This fellowship is open to English-speaking journalists who have experience working with data, audience engagement, or newsletters.
About the Fellowship
The 2025 News Corp Media Fellowship is designed to provide international reporters and editors with an immersive experience in digitally advanced newsrooms.
This opportunity includes:
Digital Innovation Training: Participate in two, two-hour webinars in April, led by experienced editors and reporters specializing in digital tools and data journalism.
Grant Opportunities: Applicants can apply for one of four news innovation grants that support data-driven projects. These grants will enhance new storytelling formats, data journalism, and citizen engagement.
Hands-On Experience: The selected fellow will spend two weeks in November embedded in the WSJ New York office, gaining invaluable insights and mentorship.
